Transportation Engineer

O.R. George & Associates, Inc. (Lanham, MD) seeks Transportation Engineer to perform traffic engineering and transportation planning duties in planning, designing, operations studies and modeling for highway, transit and other projects. Capabilities will include use of simulation and modeling software packages and review of results for accuracy along with preparation and presentation of analysis results including travel demands forecasts. Tasks will also include database management, system design computations and report writing. Transportation Engineer/Traffic Planner

ORGA has immediate need for mid-level (5-7 years) experienced Transportation/Traffic Engineers with strong interest and demonstrated experience in this field of Engineering. The Successful candidate(s) will be involved in a fast-paced professional environment, with the opportunity to assume increasing responsibilities for technical and managerial assignments on the following project types.

  • On-call services contracts with State and City DOT’s with assignments in local area studies, travel forecasting and network simulations, safety and operations analysis, development impact study reviews, highway access management evaluations, and signal design.
  • Traffic impact analysis for a wide range of development types (in terms of size and land use mix) located within urban, suburb and rural settings.
  • Data collection and operation analysis in support of Federal Agency development sites (new, expanded and upgrades) many having requirements for Environmental Impact Studies and Assessments, and involving interactions with federal and state/city agencies as well as community organizations.
  • Site Impact Analysis in support of institutional master planning studies (University campuses, Hospitals, private schools, large churches, etc.)
  • Transportation Management Plans to support major public sector land use developments as well as for purposes of site impact mitigation.
  • Expert witness testimony before public administrative bodies and as part of community outreach on both public and private sector type projects.
